More ways to reduce your Spam load! Announcing the Blok service for no.Spam.domino

DRCC is pleased to announce the availability of 'Blok' our new checksum based Spam detection add-on to no.Spam.domino. Blok will help you to detect Spam which other types of filtering may not be able to detect.

Blok consists of a mail rule for Domino r5 or r6 and a database of checksums which you replicate with DRCC. The checksum database is constantly updated throughout the day based on Spam we see flowing into our network of spam-attracting dummy mailboxes. Every time a Spam messages is received at DRCC a checksum is calculated for it and the checksum is added to the Blok database. Your server can replicate the Blok database as often as you feel necessary and then update the set of checksums that no.Spam.domino is currently scanning for. You have full control over which checksums from the library are active or inactive in your system.

Blok checksums are based on approximately 20 distinct characteristics of an e-mail message which don't change that much even when sent to millions of recipients. A single Blok checksum can match on many different incarnations of a Spam message sent with varying words in the subject or body designed to fool other filtering types. Blok offers two levels of checksum; unique and wildcard. Unique checksums are specifically targeted at one message and variations of that message. Wildcard checksums are more liberal and match general message structure rather than content. You may want to use the wildcard checksums as a way to increase a messages spam score but use the unique checksum as a way of blocking a message totally. It's up to you, as with all of our products we try to give you as much control as possible.

In addition to message checksums, the Blok system contains rules and data for checking Mailer types and no.Spam.domino message signatures. These rules are just as easy to implement as a checksum rule and the data is updated in the same way.

Blok costs US$14.99 per month for any number of users. One Blok subscription operates together with one no.Spam.domino subscription and is billed the same way.
