The command NEWNEWS is used to retrieve articles that were posted since a given date. To retrieve older articles, the date specified is some amount of time in the past. By default, we use 3 days in the past for the initial feed, and then we use the time of the previous feed for all subsequent newsfeeds.
You can override this behavior by setting the NOTES.INI variable NNTP_Initial_Feed_Days=X, where X is the number of days in the past to be used for the initial feed to each server. Or, to retrieve all articles on the initial feed, set NNTP_Initial_Feed_All=1. Both of these variables (and the NNTP_PullAsReader variable) are documented in the Domino 4.6 Release Notes.

In order for this new "Initial feed" setting to take effect, you must first reset the affected newsfeed.
Instructions for resetting a newsfeed are also in the Release Notes. While the Domino server is shutdown, remove the line or lines from your NOTES.INI file that correspond to the affected feed. The line(s) look like this:

NNTP_Previous_x_servername=yymmdd hhmmss GMT

where "servername" is the name of the remote server.

To summarize:

1) Shut down your Domino server
2) Edit NOTES.INI: Add a line for your initial feed (either NNTP_Initial_Feed_Days=x or
NNTP_Initial_Feed_All=1)
3) Edit NOTES.INI: Remove the corresponding "NNTP_Previous_ ..." lines.
4) Restart your Domino server with the NNTP task.
